Misconception about pinging every 30 mins
Posted by vinson at 8:53 am

P.S. All members

I would just like to point out a misconception that some of our members have, that is Autopinger is pinging for you every 30 mins. Now, this is not true!

Let me explain it here. Basically Autopinger caches your feed like Feedburner does and it compares your caches your feed and compare it to the one every 30 mins when Autopinger crawls your site. If there is an increase in the number of posts, it detects that you have updated your content and will go ahead and ping your blog for you. If it is still the same, it will be marked as last checked. We may want to review our 30 mins interval and raise it to 45 mins but this isn't firm yet. I will blog about this if there is a change.
